Penticton Peach Festival - August 6th - 10th 2008

Okanagan Lake Park, Penticton, BC, Canada

PEACHFEST is an annual, South Okanagan Valley tradition, which first began in 1947, to celebrate the peach harvest in Penticton, British Columbia, Canada. 2008 is the 61st annual Peachfest, and you are invited to share the fun and festivities with us.

This five day extravaganza features fantastic live entertainment often including, but not limited to, bands, solo/duo acts, dancers, martial arts demonstrations, hypnotist shows, a wide variety of food & merchandise vendors, arts and crafts exhibits, two parades, various competitions, and even a Square Dance Festival.

Peachfest 2008 will kick off ONE DAY EARLY on Tuesday August 5/2008 - as the Canadian Forces SNOWBIRDS will perform their world class breathtaking precision aerial flight demonstration over the shores of Okanagan Lake - in Down Town Penticton!  Stay tuned for more details on this exciting Pre- Peachfest Event!

On Saturday, the Peach Festival Grand Parade boasts to being one of the largest parades in British Columbia, and should not be missed, with marching bands, breathtaking floats, and lively participants from many communities throughout BC, Alberta, Washington State & beyond. Come and join the thousands of enthusiastic spectators, who line Penticton's Main Street and Lakeshore Drive, to absorb the sights and sounds of this fabulous Parade.

Sunday features Kiddies Day in Okanagan Lake Park. To start Kiddies Day, witness the enthusiasm of the children in their own Kiddies Parade, starting at 11am, down Main Street, and then return back to Okanagan Lake Park, where between 12pm & 4pm, the young ones are treated to a variety of events and entertainers, specially geared for their enjoyment.

After Kiddies Day in the park, sit back and relax, and get ready to enjoy the festival finale, including the official closing ceremony, along with more awesome entertainment to bring to a close, another successful, and fun-filled festival...
