Volunteer Policies and Procedures
- KEEP A SMILE ON YOUR FACE
- Always be polite, helpful, and attentive with all persons.
- Be courteous when speaking - use words "please" & "thank you", and if you make a mistake, "I'm sorry".
- Always respect your team leaders and team members, and all other festival staff. Please do not scream, yell, command, or raise your voice to anyone, including fellow volunteers, leaders or Directors.
- Always remember that you are part of a team.
- Be on time for your shifts. Being punctual is extremely important. We prefer that you check in, with your team leader, at the volunteer tent, which is located beside the stage. Your team leader will then assign you your duties.
- Sign in and out of your shifts. Upon signing in for your shift, you will be given a volunteer shirt (plain with volunteer printed on it), which you will wear for the duration of your shift. Upon completion of your shift, you will return the volunteer shirt, and sign out. After completing all shifts you signed up for, you will be awarded your commemorative Peachfest shirt, at the thankyou dinner after the festival has finished.
- If you cannot make it to your shift. You must contact your team leader, and let him/her know when your shift was scheduled. Please let them know at least 24 hours before your shift, or as soon as possible.
- Volunteer shirt. Your shirt must be worn throughout the duration of your shift. If your shirt becomes soiled or damaged during your shift, you must replace it with a clean shirt. If you cannot find your team leader, please ask a Director, who will assist you with getting you another shirt.
- Stay in your designated area. Do not change areas, without your team leaders knowledge. Make sure that you coordinate breaks, with your team leader.
- Be flexible. There may be times, when you are needed to help out in another area.
- Alcohol/Drugs. Anyone who shows up for their shift, under the influence of alcohol or drugs, will be relieved of their duties as volunteer , and will not be allowed to participate in future festivals.
- Food/Merchandise. Volunteers are responsible for their own meals. Solicitation of vendors for free food, is strictly prohibited. There will be no warnings given - if you try to get free food from any vendor, you will be relieved of your duties immediately, and will lose all volunteer priviledges. These same rules apply to merchandise - do not attempt to gain anything free from any merchandise vendors.
- Personal belongings. We encourage you to keep your personal belongings to a minimum. You are responsible for the safety and security of your personal belongings - we DO NOT provide a secure lockup area.
